Minutes
1. Welcome and Introductions:
New Participants: Pam Petersen, Glenbard East, Nancyleu Carlson, Chamber of Commerce
2. Review of Past Minutes: Reviewed minutes from May 26, 2004 meeting.
3. Budget Update: Current balance - $4,304.50
4. Website Update: Domain name lombardcharactercounts.org
Gary Smit shared the first draft of the Lombard CC! website.
If you have photos that can be added to the website please email them to Gary at
gmsmit@comcast.net
Possible additions to the website:
- Business partners & business membership forms
- Descriptive paragraphs for the "Partners Page"
- Someone You Should Know application
- Global Portrait data
5. CHARACTER COUNTS! Week October 18th - 23rd
Halftime speakers: Pat, Pam and Frank will coordinate. The possibility of a few senior citizens speaking was discussed and will be explored. Stephanie will get back to Frank regarding a GWMS student speaking.
Business Activities: Chamber coordinating.
Luncheon 10/20 * representatives from Coalition will present.
The possibility of modifying the pamphlet to highlight business partners was discussed. Cathy F. will explore.Other activities: Locate and flyer your CC! in Lombard flag
Family Fun Night * October 20th @ Glenbard East
Silent Auction * 25 Bird Houses are ready * looking for donated artwork to auction * original work from Lombard residents, not your Dogs Playing Poker print you're looking to get out of your basement
3 on 3 basketball: Frank & Pat coordinating. The possibility of adding challenge games was discussed. Cathy F. volunteered to contact representatives from various Lombard agencies to encourage team membership.
Carnival Games: GWMS Student Leadership coordinating.
Music: Maria coordinating
Volunteer Table: Lynnda coordinating. Susan following up with Homeless group to see if they'd like to participate.
Publicity: Rita contacting papers, etc. Bill will have banner hung on corner of Wilson and Main. Deb will get information to the Clergy Association.
Flyer will be revised by Cathy and distributed electronically. The flyer will include a request for a non-perishable food item or paper products as entry to Family Fun Night.
The group approved the purchase of the CC! tags. GBE will look into left over key chains.
Please keep Pat updated on where you are at with your responsibilities related to Family Fun Night.
